About Kathy Kalichman

My passion for food and cooking was inspired by my Lithuanian grandmother, who had me peeling potatoes and beets and chopping onions for borsht at a very young age. My need to nurture and feed people was instilled in me by my mother who always made sure that our large family sat at the dinner table together and shared a home-made meal. I not only learned how to cook, but also to love and respect food.

I spent 15 years in the fashion industry before realizing that my real passion was cooking. I took various classes at the Natural Gourmet Institute and The New School before attending The French Culinary Institute where I perfected my skills. I decided to go into the personal chef industry because it afforded me the flexibility to raise my two daughters and still have time to create nutritious gourmet meals for my clients.

Kathy’s Kitchen is a culmination of all the things I love, connecting with people, cooking delicious healthy meals, and bringing families back to the dinner table.
